  1. I took the idea from a longstanding internet meme that goes something like: I don't want people to mourn at my funeral. I want them to celebrate. They should have a party with a piñata - but then lets put bees in the piñata. I don't want them to have TOO much fun. So yeah, a bee-shaped piñata sounds good. A local street vendor with a glorious booth of piñatas in many styles has one shaped like Winnie the Pooh. I think that would be great, too - not that I'm such a Milne fan but just because it amuses the hell outta me to say "Pooh piñata" but that's just me.
  2. Geez ... I'm sorry! It never occurred to me that Lilliput was your domain!
  3. ok, I got a confession. I've been messing with banner ads again.
  4. SL is vital - no exaggeration, vital - to Xerc the meatstack's ability to cope with meatspace. I now return you to your irregular, unscheduled thread. It is recommended that you just ignore it and let it die .
  5. Although I'm enjoying these I get the feeling that 97% of these responses aren't at all what Skel was looking for.
  6. Xerc the avatar tries to dress tastefully, attractively, and appropriately whatever the occasion. Xerc the meatstack goes to the store in gym shorts and a tee with a cartoon on it. As others have mentioned - I'm a bit more 'romantically assertive' in SL. Of course I have much bigger pockets in SL - it isn't quite so easy to rez a gymnastics horse or some such in Safeway. I dig what you said about the avatar being you, and also himself independently of you. I'm a bit of an author as well. Each SL character begins as my creation but then becomes family, confidant, friend, betrayer, and mirror.
  7. On the topic of privacy/home invasion/clicking things that don't belong to you : Years ago on a relatively pastoral region on Nautilus continent my neighbors to the North had quite the pixel mansion. I used to cam into their sumptuous modern kitchen and do my best to make sure that every drawer, lid, and appliance door was always standing open to greet them when they logged in. One warm sunny day 3 or 4 of the Hangout Ladies came to pay a call - Lil, Rioko ... and I think Claire and Brann, not sure. As I recall Rioko spent most of her time standing on my upper deck enjoying the neighbor's kitchen in exactly the same way I did. Sometimes it is the little things that make SLife worth SLivin'.
  8. The familiar salutation "Bro" for a male, presumably short for "brother", was acceptable to me although it took me a while to not cringe at being referred to as "brother" by strangers. One of dumbing-down's definitive achievements, however, is to then take this too-insincere salutation and spell it "bruh" as is commonly seen these days. As to pronunciation I can only assume that in this spelling it rhymes with "duh", which AFAIAC says more about the speaker than the addressee.
  9. Might not be a bad idea to stock up on Xercnip, too. (hell it was worth a try)
  10. I'm a tad misunderstood, but I can roll with that. Thank you!
  11. hehehe Thinking back on a hemi-semi-related vein: I looked down at the odometer on my truck recently and saw 31310. As a dinosaur geek I read the number 3 as the letter "E", etc, and I thought to myself "I'm driving Old MacDonald's Farm truck!"
  12. WOOHOO! I musta missed Skel's resignation post! Congrats! I recently lateral-shifted my way out of a job that I knew on my first week (9 years ago) was the biggest mistake of my life (and with the choices I've made, that is quite significant) Good on ya! May your next endeavor be a better fit..
  13. Menswear makers often pack sets with corresponding size markings - that don't cooperate. Wear the medium shirt with the medium pants? Wrong. Mesh menswear has almost advanced to the point where nearly half of it isn't crap anymore. Almost.
