how do i reset my original user name

forgot user name did the forgot user name thing and it gave me a new one now i have to start over all my stuff is gone

If you forgot your username and/or password then you cannot log in using it.  You're only option is starting a new account.  And what's more if you can't remember your username then the chances are slim to none that LL will be able to help you.  It's up to you to keep track of your accounts........no one else can do it for you.

There's no way to change your username.  What you got was a new account.  That user name is not associated with your old account, where your old av and all your inventory are.  You'll need to work with Live Chat (if you are a Premium member), or maybe with the billing office to find your old account.  If you want to try the billing office, it's a free phone call.

Helo Matalhead. If you forgot your username, you can retrieve it: a)From your welcome email b)From the Second Life website

a)Log into your email account and search your archives for "second life". Look for an email with your username in the subject line: "Welcome to Second Life, YOUR NAME!"

b)Click "Log in" in Second Life Website --> Forgot your log in information? --> Under where it says "Forgot your name?" write your mail address and your SL name will be sent to you shortly
