Peeriod Paine
can anyone tell me how to have a 256x256 prim with a texture show up on the map, tried different heights at around 400 meters but they all just turn out red
0 Rolig Loon
Try putting it just below 300m. If I remember correctly, things above 300m won't show in a map view. Remember to texture the bottom side with a transparent texture so you can see the sky from below, and make it phantom so you don't bump into it. 0 Chic Aeon
It is true that things below 300 meters do not show up. I tried long ago to do what you are doing and ended up with a big square "gray" blob on the map. Also tried sculpty letters with big round blogs on the map *wink*. So the map needs to SEE the texture. I have, on occasion noted places with what appear to be textures showing up on the map. MOST however are PRIMS tinted a certain color spelling out the name of the place or what they sell. The map apparently goes by quickly and if it doesn't rez in time, it doesn't appear on the map. So make a plan and build your letters in the sky on your 256 x 256 platform UNDER 300 meters (actually I think it can be a bit above that -- or used to be anyway. My stuff shows up at 400 meters. Testing, the last frontier.
