Graphics on ultra

Hello,

 

I have a problem when I go in ultra.

That is happen when I got in august viewer 2.8.3

When I go in ultra I crash or I cannot do anything.

Before that I had no problems.

I had that too when I last tried an LL viewer 2.  As such it's a no go for me.

In the moment you switch to Ultra the new viewer switches automatically to *Lightning and Shadows* and *Ambient Ocllusion*. This could be the problem for your computer or grafic-card, cause this features needs much more performance then high mode.

If you want to play in Ultra, switch to it in logg-in-sceen, before you logg in the game. Then deselect Lightning and try to logg in. Maybe your computer will work now.

Usually I play in *high*-mode, i use *ultra* only for photographing or when i whant to try something different. High-mode looks pretty good, so i think there's no need for ultra to go to parties, shopping or meeting friends.

Some say to me that I must use the phoenixviewer.

But I am not so adventure type ;-)  I am not so handy and

Iam already glad that I understand this viewer.

Thanks for responding.

When Iam home I will look at it.

When I play sl I am in medium only with filming

I go in the highest graphic. That was before the upgrade

to 2.8.3 no problem. But after that the problem was started.

I cannot do anything more in ultra. Didn't really need it, but I am curious

what the reason is.

I hope this will work for you, if not, try Firestorm, the new Viewer from the Phoenix Team.

It looks like Viewer 2 but it's still in beta version. But it is a very stable viewer like phoenix and

for grafics it's very good. Lightning and shadows are not included or fixed in it, so you should

not get same promblem with it like in viewer 2.

Try it, maybe it's better for you for filming, I got very good results in photography with it.

Tommi, another issue I discovered with Lighting and Shadows in current versions of Viewer 2 is that objects with alpha textures may become completely invisible when that box is checked.  I have seen this in particular with plants.

I have do what you had wrote to me and put off the lightning and shadows.

When I do that everything was working perfect. Thanks for your help!

I have only not find a solutions for filming with spacenavigator. I can use it

and it works great. But when I see it back it is not smoothly. That is

so pity. I have see how it can be. And still I don't understand it why it works

before I get that new viewer 2.8.3 and after that not more. There must be

some changes in the settings. It makes me crazy that I cannot find it grrrrrrrrr

Hi Nany, unfortunally we all know this alpha layer issues atm . It's a problem of sl in the moment as much as i know and i don't know any solution for it. I hope i will change with the next updates.

Hi Anna,

I don't know spacenavigator and so i can't help you with this issue.

Did you try filming with *high*grafics? Maybe it's really a problem with too high grafic settings. You can change single settings in the preferences, but I'm sure you know that well.

Another possibility would be to try it with Firestorm-viewer for the moment, it might work better. I don't know.
