There are no "fake" $L, but there ARE stolen $L.  Some people obtain $L by buying them with a stolen credit card, and then sell them on eBay or directly, one resident to another.  If LL catches you with stolen $L, they will not ban you, but they will subtract them from your account and charge you a 50% penalty on top of it.

ONLY buy $L from the Lindex or from third party sites that use the Linden Lab Exchange Risk API.

The only "fake" L$ that exist are the ones that show on everyone`s account when they login to the beta grid. Nothing about the beta grid is "real". You can make things there, use the money there to upload or buy things etc. but none of those things still exist on your account when you come back to the main grid.

So, if those were the fake lindens that the person referred to, there is no way they can transfer that money to the main grid....If there was we would all be rich lol
