well, if the user name you want is already taken there really isn't much to do but to try another one - until you get one that is not taken.

add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.

As an experiment recently, a friend tried to see how many tries it would take to create a new alt. I think she was at 30 before she got a name that was accepted. You'll just have to be creative. Look up lists of names or even fantasy names. There is a fantasy name generator somewhere on this page but lots of other useful name suggestions too. http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~pound/

Thanks to LL and their display name experiment, you now have to use extremely creative names. For instance try "38fb7trn37r" - it's highly unlikely that one is taken already! :smileysad:

Try using a first and last name combo such as JohnSmith, there is no way that every possible combo has been used, though I would guess that that particular example has lol

It is much better than getting a computer generated suggestion such as John2227863.
