Treasure Hunts

Hi, are treasure hunts - like Indiana Jones, not shopping - are they something people participate in?

I've seen (and participated in) treasure hunts that were run by groups as one-time events. Linden Lab often runs seasonal hunts of a sort at Halloween and other times of the year, too. I can't comment about how wide-spread and popular they may be, though, and I'm not aware of any that are ongoing things, like role-play.  You might ask around in role-play groups, though.
