Changing the color on a Prim face but keep the partial alpha

Hi,

I have a Prim with one face partially transparent (Alpha).

I tried using llSetLinkColor and also llSetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast, both work at changing the color but both make the whole Prim colored, removing my alpha parts.

If I edit the Prim face directly, and change the color there, it just colors the non-alpha part, which is exactly how I wish to do it from a script.

 

Any 'good' suggestions please?

If you've used llSetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast, you have almost solved it already. Try it again,  but this time remember to specify which face to color. Take a look in the LSL wiki if you are unsure about the syntax.

The last parameter of llSetLinkColor is the face number. You always have to tell the script which face to color.

You can see the face number when you have it selected in edit mode.

Use llGetPrimitiveParams to get the alpha value of the face. Then use that value when setting the new color.
