Downgrading Acct to Basic After Paying Yearly

Question

My partner has multiple accts and doesn't need All of them to be Premium. He pays Annually and as luck would have it, he tried to downgrade One Day after he was charged. The problem is that it requires that he Abandon his Linden Home in order to downgrade Even Though he is paid up for a year. How can he downgrade one of his accts and still keep his house that already paid for?

He can't.  He missed the deadline. Premium memberships are prepaid. You get the full stack of benefits up front, the day you pay for the membership. You can stop using those benefits at any time -- abandon your home, stop visiting the premium sandboxes, ignore the weekly stipends that accumulate in your account -- but you paid for them and they are yours until the end of the period that you paid for.  It says right in the TOS, Linden Lab is not obligated to offer refunds.  I suggest that your partner keep his Linden Home until a week before his membership is due to autorenew next year.  Then abandon it and revert to Basic.

SOMETIMES - if you contact LL within 1-2 days of being charged again for Premium, they will agree to go ahead and downgrade you and refund the charge.  If they agree, the Linden House will need to be abandoned, but you can likely wait until they say whether or not they will go ahead and refund.
