I tried to make a very "inexpensive" cube with 12 traingles only, but i can not get the prim costs of the cube below 1.5 (or 2.0, actually i do not understand which number i have to take for the actual primcosts in the object editor)

I have opened a Jira CTS-628 for this because i strongly believe that the numbers are wrong. But maybe i overlook something ? Any hint why the prim cost is so high ?

Yes. That's the case even if you make it smooth faced so that there are on;y 8 vertices. I think there is a mistake with the minimum cost per prim in a linkset which used to be 0.5 and is now 1.5. That gets rounded up to 2. Maybe this is just to make sure you don't use mesh for anything at all. After all, you can make a nice 2048 triangle LOD-proof sculpty for 1 prim.
