gift cards for lindens?

whyy cant linden labs put gift cards in the stores like walmart or walgreens like imvu  and just reload it when yoiu want more  alot of people dont want to put a cc  on  the website  which i dont blame them its a suggestion it be alot safer and easier and you still make your money and maybe even more id like to see gift cards out there  in the actual stores

Because of tax implications, LL needs to know who is buying $L. A credit card or a PayPal account permits that. A gift card is anonymous.

Lindal is quite right.  In a related and more practical vein, Linden Lab does not accept gift cards (or any prepaid cards) as valid payment methods. One major problem, as Lindal says, is that they have no idea who the money is coming from, so they want to avoid being complicit in money laundering or tax avoidance.  Another  reason is that their credit processor cannot reverse a charge to a prepaid card in case there's a malfunction or in case you are due a refund. You'd lose the amount that was taken from the card.  Many debit cards also fail for the same reasons (although many succeed), and because the LindeX processor can't tolerate more than a very brief delay in transferring funds.  There's no reason why you can't use a prepaid card to send funds to a verified PayPal account, though, and then use the PayPal account to buy L$.
