I had a pet sheep, (ram), I named Douglas. ❤️
There was a little zoo kind of place next door to where I was working that was closing down and this
tiny baby lamb would be at the fence every time I left work, bleating and crying all the time so I asked
if I could take it home. Its mum died or something 8-/
Douglas ended up being a large ram that would headbutt cars with very shiny paint jobs ;o
His fave car to headbutt was a gloss black Studebaker show car which even though Douglas
would get about a 1/2 mile run-up, didn't even dent the car lool.
A friend had a herd of sheep so he merrily lived happily ever after on that property.
The thing is, for years after, you could pull up in your car, whistle and Douglas would eagerly come trotting over for a pat. 😂 🐏

My parents intended to name all their children after places in Wisconsin. I was the only one they ever produced, so I got their #1 pick. Some of my never-to-be siblings dodged bullets, though. Mom and Dad entertained hundreds of names over the years. Here are a few, off the top of my head...

Altoona
Baraboo
Blair
Hamilton
Ixonia
Juneau
Kenosha
Lodi
Menona and Mendota (in case of twins)
Spooner
Verona and Viroqua (in case of twins)
Wausau

For some reason, they never did this with family pets, so they had meh names like Alex and Barney.

The best dog name I've encountered is my friend's golden retriever, Margaret. She answers to Maggy, I answer to Maddy, so there's often confusion when I visit.

Ἀρια (Aria) which is my own name
Αττικός (Attikós in Greek, the closest English version is Atticus)
Αλέκος (Alékos in Greek, the closest English version is Alex)

Just so long as they don't make you do your business in the back yard.

I really think you should change your name to Altoona. Not only would it be unique, it would avoid the golden retriever mixups.
