amydeath
I know I know, well paying, on SL.. hah what a joke, but yeah, i'm looking for a job that pays better than my current DJ job at BaY (Bondage and Yiff club), where I only get paid by tips.I can make textures.I can make profile pictures or edit snapshots, i'm quite talented with photoshop.I can DJ, i've been dj'ing for several years (This is an alt account) using both winamp and SAM broadcaster. The problem is that I could get a lot better DJ job.. but I don't have a mic, wich most clubs ask their DJ's to have. I can't script nor build, so those two are out of the question.I Enjoy rp'ing quite a bit, so maybe an escort? But I don't want the club I work at to take 20+% of the little money I make, and seeing as there's already SO many escorts I doubt that would make me any decent linden.I'm a furry if that changes anything, and I don't have a human avatar. LoveAngeL Lyre
Hello amydeath. Let's take your options one by one. 1) DJ'ing: This one sounds as the best choice for you. It is something you have already done, you know it, but till now you used to spin just for tips. My suggestion is to try to find other clubs, owners and managers who are looking for DJ's with a payment. This way you can earn in the beginning about 200 lindens per hour and if you are good enough a little later 300 or 500 lindens per hour except of tips which are all for you when you rezz your own tipjar. The only disadvantage, but important, is that you haven't microphone. So it is impossible for someone to pay more 200-250 lindens / per for someone without microphone. Maybe you need to think about to get one soon except of you are negative to use voice in SL as many others here and it is respectable. 2)Tetxuring: No bad idea but i don't suggest it because it is very difficult to earn many lindens with it. More or less everyone arround knows to edit pictures or has a friend who knows about it. If we lived 10 years earlier yes someone with photoshop could be considered skilled but my feeling is no more nowdays. If you find someone to pay you for textures it will be something very rare, so i don't think that you must to orientate to it. 3)Escorting: Unlike with many people i am NOT against this job. I have friends escorts males and females who earn thousands. So i could suggest it if there were the suitable conditions. You wondered if your last sentence changes anything. Unfortunately yes. Being a furry you will not have the best luck when beside you, you will have girls really attarctive, beautiful and charming. I underline that i don't mean that furries aren't beautiful. Just i say that they address in a small number of guests instead of girls with human avatars. Also the fact that you haven't microphone is another one disadvantage for this job, when most are looking for voice if not for cameras also, some of them just to prove that you are a girl in real. I believe that this checking is irrational when it is so easy for everyone with some lindens to change his / her voice, but i express what exists arround. If you want to try to follow this path, it is your right and you can do it. Have in your mind that there are freelance places where girls keep the 100% of tips (no commissions). To sum up, the first choice (continue dj'ing) is the best for me and could be better if you decide to get a microphone. Good luck.
Kolby Nissondorf
Like Love said, texturing is very difficult to make money. You can place some of your textures onto Marketplace, and maybe sell some of them there. -K
amydeath
Thansk for the nice replies so far, I might be willing to invest in a mic to use for DJ'ing if I really have to, same goes for a human avatar, but i'd need to know some good clubs... I only know furry clubs.. so I don't know any decent ones haha. Texturing... yeah I know it's difficult to sell, but I could try it I suppose.. CrashOV Uladstron
I don't think making textures is a bad idea at all. And I don't understand why would anyone say you can't make money selling textures. You can make a lot of money selling good textures. What if people like Alex Bader thought making textures is a dead end? SL would be so much poorer. PeterCanessa Oh
Why not offer to TEACH DJing? There are often people looking and at most teaching places they pay L$200 - L$500/hour plus tips. As a mentor to individuals you could offer your advice for whatever the market would bear,
amydeath
That sounds quite cool, but i'm not quite good at teaching people stuff, that and i'm not super experienced in dj'ing, I know how to set up things and start streaming, butr that's about it. Monica Querrien
Do you have a strong fan base? And the club that you work at currently, do they get a decent crowd of people? You make tips sound like a bad thing...I know DJs who get over 1k in tips, and don't charge a fee if they make more than 500L in a 2 hr set. A good friend of mine can make over 2k at times DJing weekend gigs, and he doesn't voice.
