wyson
Any one got any suggestions for my nana tia Okies.. this is probs my last resort of coming to FB for help.. cos i simply give the ***** up.. For a while iv had a problem of being around too many mesh object, it was freezing me instantly and then crash me... i found out it was my 'RendervolumeLOD' that was too high... i lowered it and it helped me alot.. but unfortunately i am still having the same issue, only since i lowered this setting, all it has done is bought me a little extra time of being able to be around many mesh objects before crashing... i have asked FS support, which was pointless... i was given links regarding tp'ing .. which is not my problem, and also a link regarding lag.. again, not my problem... so i asked again today, and was asked 2 questions.. 'what was my draw distance, and what was my LOD set at... and after answering... i got no more response.. sighs... so if anyone has any suggestions for me to try.. that would be great Thank you ♥tia
Fritigern Gothly
Other important info is what are the specifications of your laptop? Just go to Help => About Firestorm. You should then see dialog pop up, with at the bottom a button with the text "Copy to Clipboard". Click that button then paste that info below this post. It will help up help you. Adding more ram to your laptop will make everything you do on it MUCH faster (like wow, it's like a whole new computer faster). Might be an idea to check if your HD is a SSD or a mechanical drive. If it's the latter .. put an SSD as a matter of priority (again, night and day difference here). Till then ! When running SL : do not run anything else, especially a web browser. Try a different viewer aimed at lower end hardware - Like (shameless plug) Catznip (https://get.catznip.com/downloads/beta) Do not set your texture memory over 512MB

It totally is that. The SL viewer can eat 3GB of ram all on it's own, windows needs 2-3 GB as a bare minimum, and your video ram may well be coming out of that 3GB total too. 8GB is the bare functional minimum, a realistic working amount is more like 16GB.
