Question

Ok, so I want to rename a bunch of files. I highlighted all, renamed one and hit enter. That's pretty cool, now I have NEWNAME (1) - NEWNAME (1million).

That will be very useful. What I would really like to be able to do though, is put a certain character, such as a z or an * in front of all my files that I am trying to rename so that I don't change the name of all the files, I am just adding a character to them that will put them all in one clump when I view them alphabetically.

How do I do this?

Aha! You are partly or totally correct, as I am not a scripter. I did find this download called Rename Master. It did the job splendidly and perfectly and it did it by script I think. It is free. Just google Rename Master if anyone is interested.
