Invisible Body

I purchased a complete avatar from the Marketplace.  I can only see the face, hands and feet.  Any clothing I select to wear does not show up.  Any help would be great as I am new SL.

Purchasing an avatar can mean lots of things, so could you tell us what you bought, and what clothes are you trying to wear with it?

I suggested on possibility, but no, it would not explain the problem

If you can only see face hands and feet it sounds like you are wearing one or more alpha layers on your body that make parts of the body invisible so there is no skin poking through if you are trying to wear system layer clothes the icons look like vest pants trousers skirt jacket & stockings in inventory they won't show up on your body. you will need to wear mesh clothing or remove the alpha layer(s)

Take everything off and add things one at a time and you'll figure out what is happening.  You'll also learn more about the different types of wearables in SL.
