I checked out this article:

and it shows that you can stop other people moving your stuff by un-checking Allow anyone to move. But I can't find this option anywhere.  My General tabs doesn't look like the one in the article either (checked with SL viewer and Firestorm).

AND other people CAN move my stuff, and I want to stop it.  How?

Thanks a bunch!

If you get one of your own objects into Edit (right click it and click Edit), near the bottom of the General tab of the Edit box you'll see the permissions settings. Under the Anyone section of those, you can check to allow anyone to move the object or uncheck for not move.

It's set to not allow moving by default.

Thanks Phil.

I see it now.  And as you say, it isn't set for my objects.  However, if I sign is as my alt, I can move them about.  Not sure how SL knows it's alt.  I'll get a friend to try moving them.

Anna.

Or perhaps you have given your alt the right to edit your objects. The chances are that that's what you've done, because a normal use of an alt is to be another instance of you for various purposes. My main alt has edit rights to my objects, as I have to her's.

You can give any individual edit rights to your objects.

I know this sounds stupid, but how would I do that?  It look almost certain that I have (in which case I can stop worrying), but I don't remember doing it.

Thanks Phil and Bree for your help.

OK!!!!!  I just found it (Friends list).  No need to reply to stupid Anna!
