ZynDyrr Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 When I log into secondlife, all I see is a message telling me "Too many messages, IMs capped" yet there are no messages, IMs, anything at all. Is this some sort of glitch or setting I need to fix? Thank in advance.
0 Rolig Loon Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 If you are offline and an IM is sent to you, the IM is backlogged and will appear as a notification icon in the upper right of your Viewer when you log in. (Third-party viewers may display the icon in other places on your screen.) If you click to open that icon, you'll find that it has four tabs for saving different kinds on notifications. The backlog can contain up to 25 IMs (cap limit), including inventory transfers, group invitations, and group notifications, so you're not looking just for IMs. It's good practice to review those notifications each time you log in and to clear the backlog frequently so that it doesn't prevent forwarding of important messages to your e-mail. If you do not log in for a month or so, you'll find that older notifications self delete after 31 days. 3

Another thing I like to do is turn off notices I will either turn off notices or leave the group entirely. You can access that in the "Groups" tab and then right click on the group and choose "View Info". From there un-check "Recieve Group Notices". 1
