When I try to wear my new skin I end up wearing the Image from the store? what is causing this?

I am brand new here a friend of mine brought me online, took me to buy my first skins. I bought them with money she gave me. When I click "wear" the new skins in my objects->inventory locationg... when i click "wear" i wear the photo flat image from the store front, it does not attach to me as she said it should. Shes confused and me moreso... Help

It is packed in a box / sign that you need to unpack.

Drag the box to the ground to rezz it, right-click on it and select OPEN. Click the button "copy contents to inventory" & it will create a new folder in your inventory with your items inside & thats the ones you can wear

If you want to unpack a box, you will need to be in an area where you are allowed to rez objects.  Look at the center of the  very top of your screen for a tiny icon that looks like a cube.  It will be there if you are in a place where rezzing is permitted. Otherwise, the cube will have a red circle/slash attached, telling you that rezzing is forbidden. Use your Search function (upper right corner of the screen if you are using the V2 viewer) to look for a "sandbox" where rezzing is allowed.
