How can two people use furniture animations without poseballs?

Most good furniture doesn't use poseballs.  They used to be common in SL many years ago, but began to disappear about 5 years ago.  Nowadays, most furniture uses a script that is built in to it.  On a sofa or a bed, it will usually have sit targets for two or more people, each with an independent menu.  When the animations are meant to be paired (as in, for example, a cuddle anim), the positions are preset so that the seated people fit together.  All you have to do it sit.

Hi, they are most likely using the script AVSitter, which can be set up for as many avatars as you like as long as there are prims and scripts per avatar. You can find more information for it on their website, or on marketplace. Just search AVSitter.
