Yes, but it's not a good idea.  Once a person becomes the co-owner of a group, there is absolutely no way to force him to give up the role.  A co-owner has full rights to do anything he wants with the group -- invite other people to join, eject people, sell group assets, change abilities for other roles, return items deeded to the group .... When you create a group, the only person that you know you can always trust in the role of co-owner is your own alt. Make your friend a group officer instead.

To assign anyone to a role, open the group profile's Members & Roles tab, and open the Members tab within it.  Select the person's name and check the appropriate box to assign a role.

I agree with Rolig.  It's a bad idea to give anyone else the Owner role in your group.  You would not believe the number of people we've had here asking "Is there any way for me to get my group back from my former spouse/lover/friend/business partner?"

The only people who should be in the Owner role are yourself and your own alt.
