What OS are you using. I use to use this product at a quick Relay Service tester. So I dug it out and find that it is not working under my New Windows 10 Professional OS.

Is is broadcasting a lovely background hiss so that requirement is being met. However now capture of my VLC or Media Player music when running. Apparently the default PCM sound capture mode is not available on Windows 10.

This might be corrected with VAC [Virtual Audio Cables]
