Why are moderators allowed to delete your PM's?

Question

I don't know the answer, but probably you can ask by PM to Lexie Linden, Amanda Linden, or to a Moderator.

PM's should be off limits to moderators in any case, no doubt. They are not for public viewings, so why should they be moderated?

I logged in today to find my sent PM's missing from last week. Who allows this to happen and why is it allowed to happen?

Q1: Linden Lab

Q2: Because it can.

Kudo's? *holds out hands*

That is very disturbing.

I think an even better question is were your (our) PM's being reviewed by LL and if so, why.

I would recommend using another platform for any private communication.

I know that from now on I sure as heck will.

Aside from a server hiccup, how could the PM's have been deleted? (I mean other than Suspiria doing it herself, but having a temporary loss of memory)

Guess that makes them 'Almost-but-not-quite Private Messages'. Or 'Semi Private Messages' :)

You didn't get a mail saying the message had been deleted by moderators? Isn't that what happens when forum posts are removed by mods?

Well... The PM's are gone and Suspiria did not delete them....

Something or someone deleted them. The question is who or what did it, under whose authority, and why?

I for one, an quite interested in finding out the answers.
