Adding security to sections of land.

We would like people to come to our land to buy things but we also want to keep our privacy secure. How can we section off areas for the public and for ourselves and family? I have seen sims that had sectioned off areas of land with the security tapes but we are at a lose as to how we can do this?

Hi Naomi,

You must subdivide your parcel in order to assign separate access restrictions. Here's the scoop on doing that...

Select the bits of your region you want private and then subdivide. Place appropriate access restrictions on that subsection, while leaving the other bit open to the public.

Those ban lines are particularly ugly and offensive to many people.  You can get the same effect without the eyesore by using a security orb, configured for your parcel.  You'll find a huge selection of security systems in Marketplace.
