I have windows 10 and cant download SL it says I need to update drivers how?

ive been trying to download SL and i cant because i keep getting told i need to update my drivers and idk how but if i have the lastest windows shouldnt everything be up to date? do i need to download a lower version of sl for it to work properly or what please help

Your assumption that everything should be up-to-date is understandable but mistaken.   You should certainly update the driver for your Graphics Processing Unit manually -- simply go to the manufacturer's website, find the driver section and download and install the latest driver from there.

In theory you can use Windows to do this automatically but from experience I'd say it's far safer to download the GPU driver (which is what's so important for SL) manually.

Graphics card drivers are typically updated by each manufacturer two or three times a year, because they have to keep up with Microsoft and Apple, who are continuously updating their operating systems.  In fact, even if you buy a brand new computer that has had Windows 7, 8, 10 or whatever loaded into it at the factory, its graphics card drivers are probably already out of date by the time it's delivered.  The first thing you usually have to do with a new machine is update the drivers and the operating system.
