Question

Can anyone explain or provide me with a link to a tutorial that explains how video screens work? I would like to create or acquire a screen that shows you tube videos inworld. I am willing to pay someone to build this or buy a screen that has already been made, but first I would like to understand how it works.

Thank you for all your help.

There are two ways.  One is to use Parcel Media and the other is to use Media On A Prim (which LL -- and nobody else -- calls "Shared Media").  With parcel media, you designate a texture (on the Media tab of About Land for your parcel) that will be replaced by a movie when anyone clicks on it. Any surface in the parcel that has your designated texture on it becomes a movies screen.  With Media On A Prim (MOAP), you activate a specific face on  a particular prim to serve as a host for a URL, making it behave the same way your computer's monitor does when you direct the URL for a video stream to it.  There are advantages to both methods, and disadvantages.  MOAP is more dependable in many ways, but many SL residents disable it in their own viewers because of privacy concerns.
