So, did you check your system clock? To verify, double-click the clock in the Windows taskbar (usually in the lower-right corner of the screen). On a Mac, check your Date & Time. Make sure it's not a year off! Most modern computers can set their time automatically, including daylight savings.

Be sure a firewall or Internet security isn't blocking Second Life access.

If you're on an office or university network, your network administrator may have secure logins disabled. In this case, you may not be able to use Second Life on that network connection. See Using Second Life with a firewall for more information.

And one final thought, from our resident expert, KarenMichelle.... "The usual reason for getting this warning is that your PC is using outdated Security Certificate Stores - SHA256 is the standard now. Are you using Windows XP?"

If you are using a Windows XP version that has never been updated to SP3 you are out of luck unless you can find some site that has a copy of the SP3 upgrade for you to download. Well I'll be, It seems that Microsoft still has a download available - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24
