Should I be able to add tags to posts?

I can but the help says this is restricted to the Member rank, I am but a lowly Resident D:

Does this mean the Honored Resident role is actually as high as/higher than Member?

Good question. Honored Resident is missing from the Tags FAQ but note the comment that some Roles have multiple different rank divisions within them. It must be that Honored Resident is a division of Resident but the ability to add Tags is allowed even though the main Role is below Member.

Also so of the "privileges" of rank have now been given to all members after complaints that the system was unfair, so I`m not sure how up to date the Community Help is in that respect.

Originally tags weren't turned on for people below "member" rank.

some forums don't allow tagging (namely "off topic" forum, and probably any other hidden forums as well)

In any case, there is a limit for tagging: 5 tags per minute, 25 tags per hour.
