Question

HI, Im getting a colored line running across my screen using the S.L. Viewer and a AMD R9 380 Graphic card. Its a brand new card and this only happens on Second Life. Any help would be greatly apreciated!

After reading your answsers is it better to let the Graphics card auto install a new driver or is it better for me to go to the page and find one? Im scared to do anything to mess it up .. guess I'm a chicken. :(

Hi Dalarina,

I've not heard of this particular problem with AMD graphics, but there have been issues with rendering mesh items. The solution for that has usually been to update to the latest Catalyst driver, found here...

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

And for something even newer (and potentially more perilous), the beta Catalyst driver can be found here...

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx

Good luck!

I suspect you have http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-16829

This affects all viewers as far as I'm aware and it only happens when Advanced Lighting Model is enabled in graphics preferences.

All cases we have seen in Firestorm Support so far have been AMD R series cards. I suspect it's a driver bug specific to these cards.

I had the same problem.....new computer.....I have an ATI RX 480....tried everything with settings. What solved it for me was bumping up my resolution.I was at the reccomended setting...went to max. My font is real small, but my lines are GONE, and I have my advanced lighting back! YAY!!!!
