How can I make my avatar bald?

I got a smaller mesh avatar, but now that I've put on the full body alpha, I still have my hair base floating in midair. I've tried adjusting it to smaller proportions, but I can't get it to go away. How can I get rid of the hair completely?

normally with the body alpha all should be invisible.

Be sure to check you don't wear anything anymore.

You can find this to type "worn"in the searchbox of your inventory, or go to the worn tab if you have that.

Let's make sure we are talking about the same thing.

Your "hair base" can't possibly float in midair.  But a prim hair "wig" certainly can!  Try right clicking your hair and choosing Detach.  If that works, it was prim hair, not a hair base.

A hair base is "system hair" and is controlled by the Appearance sliders.  Setting all the sliders for hair to zero should result in a bald appearance.  In fact, that is all that the "baldies" you get with purchased hair are...system hair with the sliders at zero.  Instead of going into Appearance and mucking about with sliders, you could just find and wear a baldie in your inventory (there are some in your Library/Clothing folder, if you don't have any others...they may be called bald head, baldy, baldie, bald cap, or eyebrow shaper.)
