I keep crashing

I think this has been an issue for a lot of people? It's definitely been a problem for me. There was some maintenance recently that several people, myself included, were hoping would fix this, but I haven't logged in yet today to check.

Every Tuesday there is maintenance to the grid. (See grid status http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ ) and also please see Caleb Linden's weekly post about what's being rolled out each week. As far as I am aware, there isn't any new setting that we need to be adjusting for our SL to work.

If, as Ariel suggested in her post earlier, there are a number of people experiencing the same problem, you can be sure Linden Lab's little elves are toiling away in the background trying to fix what is ailing Second Life currently.

I don't know what your computer is or does, and I haven't had chance to log into Second Life at all today on either of my computers, so unfortunately I can't compare notes about when and why these crashes are occurring.

It can be very frustrating though when these bad days occur.

Unfortunately, as all of us here on the Forums/Answers are only mere mortals and are not privy to what is actually going on behind the scenes, if you want more specific personal help, you do need to be speaking to someone at Linden Lab. If you are still crashing could you please help us to help your further? Please update your question with the following information as follows: Select the Options drop-down menu to the right of your question and select Edit Question.

1) The make and model of your PC or Laptop

2) Your Operating System Version

3) The make and model of your computer's Graphics Card or Graphics Subsystem.

4) The Speed and Identity of your ISP.

5) The exact version of the SL Viewer you are using.

6) Any messages you get just before crashing.

Without this information the SL Answers Volunteers really don't know where to research.
