When starting any viewer for Second Life viewer says; "Error Can't make GL context" and crashes

SL uses OpenGL, and often this indicates that OpenGL cannot (for some reason) draw the SL screen at the resolution your screen currently is in.  You could try running SL in a window, as opposed to fullscreen (in a 1.x based viewer, a checkbox for this is the first choice on the Edit/Preferences/General page). 

If that doesn't work, then try uninstalling and reinstalling SL.  Often that works, for reasons that are not completely clear.

If that doesn't work, then check your video card driver.  Remember, on Windows, UNINSTALL the previous driver before installing any new one!
