Floating text above the prim

Hi,

I have a human character and I need to have a floating text above that . How can I do that ?

Put your hover text in a transparent prim and wear it on your nose or chin.

The SL slang term for what Rolig has described is a "Titler."  You can find them on the Marketplace.  Some have settings that let others change the text, which can be an amusing game.

You can make your own hovertext prim with a simple script.  See this link for the llSetText function: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlSetText

Many people use a group tag, or a Display Name, to accomplish the same thing, using the nametag over their avatar.
