How do I get rid of the period in my name?

Why do some people have periods and some don't? Editing profile does not allow me to get rid of the period. I thought I had gotten rid of it when I initially set up my account here, but it's back. Very strange.

I really do not know but you should open a support ticket for that.

 

I would say is an old bug so LL would have to change it.... but don't take my word for it I am just speculating.

I can't provide an answer, but what I see is that my name als has a "." in between when I am in my blog profile. But it does not appear on postings. It seems to show with people having a quite short first name. Probably a bug in the blog software.

Maybe file it to JIRA (http://jira.secondlife.com/) unter web issues.

And now we're getting funny: After the last post the "." (or after looking at my profile) appears also on my name. Thanks for the one who changed the blog software

Ahhh - i figured this one out

Go to your profile (just click on your picture here in this post for easy access) and choose "edit profile". Then on the option for "last name" make sure it is set to "show". Its weird but that then works - it will show your avatar first name and last name without the period

I didn't change anything in my profile when checking my profile when looking for an answer to help. But you are right, your trick works. But it can't be changed back after you ticked it - wonderful software. I bet it was made of recycled prims
