What is this silly bit about being transformed into a rabbit?

I was checking out another's profile and all of a sudden I was a rabbit.  How do you avoid this?  What is this stupid game?  I managed to change myself back, but I now have un unwanted rabbit avatar in my inventory and can't delete it.  Can anyone help?

Maybe you pressed the 'Avatars' button, and not another profile at all. Opening profiles may be broken today, but it doesn't transform people.

The Avatars button on the other hand, shows a list of free avatars that LL provide for new users - one of which is a rabbit. Furries are moderately common in SL, so a few free avatars are provided for users who'd like to anthropomorthise themselves.

There's no need to delete the folder in your inventory. So long as you don't wear it (or use the Avatars button), you won't turn back into a rabbit without intending to.

You cannot be changed into a rabbit (or anything else) just by inspecting someone's profile. You must have accepted an invitation or an inventory offer that turned you into a cute bunny.  

The moral of the story is to NEVER accept anything from strangers. Now try sending the bunny to the trash and empty it. :smileywink:

Yes, it's pretty easy to put that silly trap into your profile or into a message for someone else. It's just a link that the unwitting victim has to click to activate. I probably shouldn't perpetrate the joke by re-posting it here, but it's not hard to find.  As you have discovered, it is also very easy to "un-rabbit" yourself.  Just change to a different outfit.  Ha, ha.  April Fool?

Ooooooooo~! Right, I knew it was the Linden rabbit. I just couldn't think why LL would set up a link that changed outfits for you.

It was an April Fools joke a couple of years ago. Every once in a while someone rediscovers it.

Actually you can.. I clicked on something in someone's profile and change into the exact same bunny.  The person I clicked the link of, told me it happened to them too.. then the link disappeared after clicking.

It is a link in someone's profile that you have to click on, it has the words "wearfolder" in the link. It is simple enough to take off, but it can be annoying.

 

Lesson learned, be cautious about links you click on. Read them carefully.
