Any and all virtual world and games that you put $0 into and expect $ Out of is probably not going to happen. Rather than investing your time trying to find and play games for money you should invest it into your education so you can start making money with your skill. Though, if you are hard-pressed enough to play games for money you can always become a "Game tester". Pretty hard to get a position, and very confidential (Surprisingly).

Lets say you want to be a dancer, The average is about 100L an hour at a decent club -decent- So thats a couple of cents an hour for talking and entertaining etc. If you're wanting to pay for your in-game fun sure those couple of cents where you don't have to use a credit card to get can be useful. But if you're trying to take out money, doing something unproductive like linden realms, dancing etc (Not insulting anyone who enjoys dancing/hosting etc) will not earn you a income worth calling "Real money" There are few dancers/hosts that I know of who do make "Real money"

correct. You're not going to earn anything even close to a RL minimum wage in SL, forget about it.

There might be a very few exceptions, people who invest(ed) a large amount of money and effort in running a business in SL and after years of doing so are now seeing a positive income flow, but I seriously doubt even they get much more out of it than they put in when measured over the entire time they've been active (e.g. you might have to invest $1000 and 5-6 years later have gotten $1010 back).

Far better to get an RL job and just see SL as part of your entertainment, use some of the beer money you'd otherwise spend at the local pub on buying some L$.

That's a gloomy outlook. It's not true either. The part that's are not true is, "There might be a very few exceptions, people who invested a large amount of money and effort in running a business in SL and after years of doing so are now seeing a positive income flow,"

Making worthwhile RL money in SL doesn't need to take a large amount of investment money, or years of effort.

There's an SL lookalike (reverse engineered SL) that you can make money and cash out from. I forget its name but it has a 'z' in it. InWorldz? Something not too dissimilar to that. Someone will know it and hopefully post it. It doesn't have many users though, so there isn't much money to be made there.

Yes...Inworldz is a SL "knock off" so to speak.  Many SL merchants migrated to the then almost unknown IW in 2010 after LL made an unpopular decision to no longer allow storage (uploads to the hard drive) of one's designs UNLESS every jot and tittle of it was created by the person uploading ie. no more full perm textures, sculpt maps, etc. that a merchant purchased for part of their creations.  Some merchants left SL permanently for IW, others set up in IW as a secondary location.

Three years later and the downside of this is that IW is primarily composed of merchants/designers selling to each other.

ETA: "Downside" meaning for those people who want to make money solely in IW; there are people in IW who love creating, regardless of the amount of sales, and can own more land/prims in IW for less money than in SL
