..Because It had several severe bugs in regards to mew member accounts. A corrected version is being tested now and will be generally available soon.

Unfortunately, there is a serious bug in the newly-released version of Linden Lab's "official" viewer (version 3.5.2). New members who joined SL during the week of May 20, 2013 may crash if they use the viewer on a computer running Windows 7 or Win 8. The bug does not affect older members and it does not affect users on other operating systems (Win XP, Mac OS, Linux... ). Until a new version with a bug fix is available, it is probably best to download and install an alternative viewer.

And its not crashing just new users.. It will crash older users on the new Windows OS systems.
It is a nice bug and I think its more then just a number of small ones.
