This is Coco (bean) She is a 5 month old Mini Dachshund. We got her when she was 15 weeks old, had her 5 weeks now.

It's my first puppy but I have had several rescue Basset Hounds and I rehomed a 5 year old mini Dachshund called Harvey who we still have.

Harvey developed rear leg paralysis in Sept 2012 due to disc trauma. It's a common problem with the breed due to their long spines. He is 85% recovered now but he can only "bonny hop" when he tries to run and can't walk too far.

Here are some more puppy pics :)

She is adorable, my neighbour use to have a sausage dog and he used to chase the milk float down the street (we're going back some years), it was so funny he used to look like he was hovering above the ground.

Harvey look gorgous too, glad to hear he's making a recovery :smileyhappy:

Adorable, thank you for sharing the story of Coco and Harvey and the photos too.

Daschunds do certainly have wonderful natures.  I knew a man whose daschund used to sit around his neck like a furry collar when they drove anywhere. Like a living fox stole :matte-motes-big-grin-wink:

Thanks for the replies...they made me laugh.

I was in such a pro active "MUST HOUSE TRAIN PUPPPY" when I first got her I was stressed and missing out on the good times for a few weeks....much more chilled now.

She's a good girl, puppies want to please at the end of the day... its up to us to show them how to please us and the best way to do that is positive re inforcement - Most of my clothes, including my PJs have dog treats in the pockets! lol :)

I LOLd  at your post. I also carry dog treats in my coat pockets, because I have to cross a field to go to the shops from this house, and there are often dogs being exercised, and some of them are B-I-G and if I time the chucking of a biscuit at the right time, I save myself being flung to the floor and licked.  ("Down, Toby" (he is a massive dog, great dane crossed with a horse I think!)

lol

It actually gets my my **bleep** when people dress ther dogs like dollies! ....THEY'RE DOGS!

People treat dogs like babies then they wonder why they have behavior problems like separation anxiety or domination aggression or whining over weight dogs whos teeth are rotten from all the sugar and crap their owners feed them like birthday cakes or Christmas junk..

Just saying!  :)
