i have a mask (cb mask)(no copy)(worn) that i cannot remove no matter what i do?

This may may actually be a basic hair texture. Look for a basic bald hair texture in any of your other avatar hair folders to replace it with.

The easy way to tell whether it's a prim mask that you can detach or part of a system hair layer that you can only replace, as Karen suggests, is to open your inventory and look for it.  If it's a prim attachment, it will have a little cube icon next to it.  If it's system hair, the icon will look like a wig.

Things that say (Worn on some_body_part) are attachments and can be removed. Things that just say (Worn) are on a system layer. There are two kinds of system parts: The kind that can be entirely removed (like system pants) and the kind that can only be replaced (like skin or shape or eyes or system hair/eyebrows). If the mask is actually part of say a "skin" that you are wearing, the only way to get rid of it is to replace your skin with another skin.
