Your best bet is to look for in-store promotions, group gifts or events like "Fifty Linden Fridays." If you don't want to invest the dollar of RL money that represents the average full-price hairstyle you're going to have to invest your time.

It might be more easy to find freebies and hunt items than cheap mesh hair! Go to LeLutka ASAP and see if they have a gift under the Christmas tree in the hair section. You need to join the leLutka group and have it activated. This hair will not disappoint you. It's 5 colors, one totally black.

Be warned, they show full priced items too. You just have to read and scroll a few pages back. Groups can be a hit or miss, some demand 250L or more to join them. Subscribos is free, but it depends upon the goodwill how long the gifts sit in there. I picked up some really nice updos in Exile's subscribo from oct 7th just a few days ago.
