Can a script list the contents of the prim it's in?

I keep trying to find better solutions for the problems we have keeping backups of inventory and storing inventory items that we want to keep but are not currently using.  One thing that would help make storage prims easier to use would be a script that would, when the prim was touched, list its contents in chat or in an IM to the owner.

Is it possible to write such a script?  Does one already exist?

Just watch out for the maximum length of a string. When you're sending a string to chat or to hover text, any text string being said will be truncated to 1023 bytes if it is greater than that.  That's why my little script scrolls by creating eight lines at a time, then deletes the first one and adds a new one to the end before displaying again.  If you're going to dump the string to chat, you'll probably want to send the entire thing at once instead of dumping one line at a time.
