I highly doubt LL will get involved and get your L$s back for you.

I wouldn't count on the good will of the group owner, either.

You won't be able to get your lindens back.  Mistake or not, you owe the lindens so that experience should make you a little more observant about what you opt into.  But, it's easy to prevent further linden obligations fo the group.......just leave it.

While you CAN leave the group, you have already paid for it. So I would check in the roles area and see if there ARE group liabilities to be paid (this is rare). If not, then stay in the group and hopefully reap some rewards.

Agree that you will not get lindens back from LL or the owner. Next time be more aware before opting in or buying an item. Live and learn.

That's hard to do "accidentally".  The cost to join a group is right there in the group information window, plus when you click "Join", you get a confirmation message warning you that you are about to pay money to join the group.
