How do I turn off objects? I sometimes lag and need to reduce it by doing so, but forgot how.

You can't "turn off" objects.  However, you can reduce your draw distance so your graphics card doesn't spend a lot of time trying to show you things that are far away.  That's a smart move.  It can reduce lag quite a bit.  Go to Preferences >>> Graphics and set the Draw Distance slider at 64m.  That should be fine for most of the time.

Rolig's got a great answer for "turning off" distant parts of the world.

You can also TAKE off objects you are wearing.  Things with a high script count (such as 400 prim jewelry with a resize script in every prim) can add to your lag, and that of others around you.  Very high prim objects, and objects with lots of high resolution or semitransparent textures can add to your lag.

Dress simply when you go to crowded regions.

Hi! Its a really late answer for u but imsure there r going to be others. U can. Close nonmesh objects by clicking on shift+ctrl+alt+9 ... this will help u guys reduce the lag. We use it while figthing
