I've been in sl since Dec/07 & within a very short time, began to expand my creative side.  I spent countless gleeful hours learning whatever I could.  Building, making textures, photos - which lead me to PS, and onwards.  I even dabbled in the land business and had commercial & residential rentals.

All of this was for my enjoyment & took up much of my free time in rl.

Flash forward to today & I find I've even less time to devote to the creative side of sl.  My rl has become so busy that I now have to do a lot planning for my time in sl.  This past year in particular, has been very intense.

I've never been a 'schedule' type person.  I am one of those that will most likely be late for her own funeral.  I have most always been very spontaneous but today, I realize that I rarely do anything spontaneous any more.

Anyway, I'm curious about others & know that some people love a structured life whereas other's often do things on the spur of the moment & of course there are those that are both.

I am curious about others & thought it would be fun to see who has done what spontaneously.

So ... what would be the most interesting thing that you've done on the spur of the moment?  RL or SL.

For me, when I was in my 20's, I met a guy who rode an 850 Norton chopper & fell head over heals.  We lived in separate cities and I met him while visiting relatives.  We only knew each other for a few weeks when, out of the blue he came to where I worked and said hey, wanna take a ride?  I quit my job on the spot, went home & tossed a few things in a bag and off we went for 2 weeks of freedom.  It was the most carefree thing I've done & I remember it fondly.  And him of course :P

I think the most spontaneous thing I have ever done would be going to spend time with hubby for the very first time.

Definitely not my style, not necessarily because I am a planner, but it's just not like me. My kids went to my mother's house, and I went to the train station. Some odd hours later I saw hubby for the first time in person. We'd seen photos, cammed, and everything else under the sun, but we'd never met face to face. We'd met online quite some years before and been the best of friends for what seemed like an eternity (if you really want to read the rest of that story, it's in a thread in the relationships forum, I won't bore y'all with that too :P) We in fact both got lost in the train station because it was huge. He had been there before but I hadn't and neither of us had any clue where I was. We were on our cells talking and then I saw him emerge from a hallway, and our eyes met. Yeah totally one of those sappy mushy moments. I won't pretend I didn't cry, either ;)

I can't express the rest of the feelings, thoughts, and everything else of that day-and of course the rest of my trip that followed. All I can say is other than the births of my children, that was the best day of my life...so far(as hubby says).
:D

Thanks Rival!

My spontaneous moment was not really the result of any free-spiritedness. We had just moved my disabled mother to town and there would be no one but my disabled husband to look after her while I was at work. So I closed my eyes and took a leap.

I worked for a season, as an Escort Driver.

I was young, and dumb, and had zero understanding of what was considered as illegal.

The work was cold, and dirty; many of the Customers were Double wide; if you know what I mean. Some tandem work was required.

State Troopers, County Sheriffs, City, Town and Village Police, all had our number. They wanted us out of town, before Dusk.

Over the rivers, and through the woods, to the peaks of mountains, some went willing, others not so.

transporting modular housing units. :smileyhappy:

My most spur of the moment thing in SL that turned RL was back in 2008. I was RPing as a vampire queen on my own sim and this guy came in and started RPing with us. Within a week, he was my "king" in the RP sim, then we were talking in email and on the phone. A month later, I asked him to come see me (he lived in Louisiana and I lived in Georgia). He was out here a week later and not only did he come visit, he never left and just moved in from that one plane trip out here. Now he's too comfortable on my couch to leave. lol I married him in 2011 and we are 5 weeks away from expecting our first baby together. All those things were crazy reckless and nuts, but it has been the best 4 years of my life. We caught a lot of grief at the beginning because I'm 12 years older than him (he says I'm a MILF so i guess that's a good thing). But that man has been my life raft since the day I met him. Crazy and spur of the moment yes...but the best thing I ever did!

....plus I am married to a younger hottie...how cool is that? lol

I'm proud of ya Pam -- I remember when you first started on that little 5120sqm(?) lot. Now lookie! I went the absolute opposite direction myself ......... after my employer shut down, in the midwest, I moved to Florida and picked up the ole Guitar. Now I play music professionally, 5-6 nights a week.
