Frawmusl
Would I be in a better state if I started my -small- shop in a shopping mall to begin with? Would it already have a better traffic etc? What would be the pros of cons of the mall vs renting a land for the shop?
Nefertiti Nefarious
Start it on the marketplace with direct delivery ... you can build a product collection and a reputation without having to have land at all. When you are making enough every month to pay tier, THEN rent space in-world or get a parcel of your own.
Ackley Bing
With your own shop on your own land, you get to set your own keywords, classified ad, landing point, music, etc. In a mall, you generally don't get to do those things. Some malls give you those powers, but MOST do not. However, in a mall, you may get more visibility if the mall has good traffic.
Monti Messmer
Hi, just to add to Ackley´s good answer. Traffic isn´t everything. If a sim has alot traffic but people come for the club they hardly go around shopping. Places with shops only usually have the big names too so you have a lot of competition and the placement of the shop is important. Monti
jwenting
and the big names will have grabbed the prime spots long ago, yes. that said, renting a small place in a mall may be cheaper than renting or buying the same size parcel elsewhere, as most malls are there to offset the cost of running a sim in part, not to make a profit on the rent of the shop itself.
