Any Ideas? this is scary!

My friend was taking off a jacket and all of a sudden his avatar looked like this scary thing!!!.....

It looks like his viewer got confused and applied the wrong textures to his face and eyes. It happens occasionally and should be fixed if he clears his cache.

I think it might have something to do with the alpha layers. If he restarts SL and it's still like there, he might want to try going in and taking off anything he's wearing with an alpha layer. It's happened to me a few times.

I've had that happening a few times, but to my own avatar, not to others. In my case things have returned to normal after a little while by itself. Does it stay like that or does a relog or rebake fix it? Does it go away if your friend changes skins? Does your friend se himself normal? If it's only you who see him like that, have you tried to clear your viewers cache?

its happening to me lately a lot. None of my alts have this problem. It started after i bought another skin.

I tried everything i could think of, but it does not really helps.

rebake, ava test, clear cache, tried every skin i have in inventory, nothing seems to help

Sometimes it restores itself but a few hours later it starts again.

Pretty desparate since this ava becomes unusable.

Any suggestions?

A friend of me had that last year and it turned out it was a 'broken' skin. He bought it and the moment he wore it all went like on OP's picture. He contacted the skinmaker and got a new one, which was fine.
I have NO idea how a skin can get broken, but seen it some times afterwards and it always turns out to be the skin...

I had the same thing happen. I went as far as to do a complete uninstall and reinstall. The only fix I had was to switch veiwers. I went ti Singularity but I can't say that will work for everone. Hopefully your friend can get hers fixed as well.
