How to put off resident from my name in second life ?

I don't like the word resident i want some other name instead of resident , what do i need to do ?

I'm afraid you're kind of stuck with it. The only thing you can do is create a display name, and use that, but the Resident part is still there underneath it anyway.

I agree, but don't worry about it.  "Resident" is one of the dumbest names they could have come up with, but the only time you have to use it is when you log in to SL with one of the V1 viewers, like Phoenix.  All that most people see is your single name or a Display Name.

you are stuck with the name resident but you can change your display name as luc said. now if you dont want to let others see it they have to have a updated viewer that dont show last names. such as phoniex or firestorm but idk if v3 does or not.
