Thanks for taking a look at this.

I am trying to make body shapes for avatars, and want to make mesh cloths for these shapes. I have some idea how to do it but I think Im doing it the hard way. I was wondering if there was a way to copy the weighting from the body shape, to the clothing, to make it a much closer match. My understanding is that there is a 'copy weight' option in Blender 2.67a, but have been unable to find it. Any help you could give would be great.

Thank you for your time.

I too am learning so may not be able to help much.  Are you using the Avastar addon?  I know some things in Avastar make life easier, but I am too new to tell you what.

If you do not receive a lot of replies, run a search for Blender Groups in SL, some are pretty active and might be able to answer you better than  I can.

Hello, the blender gods might provide you a clearer answer but that´s how i do it.

1. Select the shape, with the weights

2. select the cloth you want the weights transferred to

3. switch to weight paint mode

Now you will see a button (among alot others) with transfer weights

4. push that button once then select the options (selected, closest vertex ......) you want

5. push that button again (i usually do 2 times to be sure)

Voila, transfer weights is the new copy weights.
