LlazarusLlong
The value of the website secondlife.com is actually precisely zero, since it has no intrinsic value other than as the main web presence of Linden Lab. The value of Linden Lab as a company is completely different from this, and although the revenues supposedly earned by the website (questionable, since access to Second Life itself is not via that website) would contribute towards the company's valuation, there are a considerable number of other factors to be taken into account, not least its indebtedness, charges over its assets, and questions relating to its going concern status in the medium term. PS I am most amused by their attempts to quantify "unique visitors" . . .
Rhys Goode
What a wonderful example of trying to fit a round peg into a square hole! Very entertaining.
Perrie Juran
Well, all that information is lifted (copy/pasted?) from another Website whos purpose I am unsure of. The site fails to state their methodolgy also, not to mention it's innacuracies. The Lindex which is in the SL domain generates about $500,000US monthly in fees, way more than the $177,431 stated. The Lindex could help account for a high unique traffic number. But again, we don't know their methodolgy.

Yeah, the website you got this from is a support website for brokerage sites that use it to ascertain the value of the underlying company for the purpose of valuating a domain name's / underlying company's potential worth. Using click thru information is a useless stat for this kind of analysis. A program generates these analysis's, and it doesn't even look at publicity available business information about its targets. So if you wanted to buy the domain name secondlife.com from Linden Lab the recommended starting asking price might be pretty high. LOL Old school SEO [search Engine Optimization] companies and hacks use this information to show to potential victims how great search positioning can help valuate your business to support the 'Why you need to do business with us' sales pitch. Amethyst Jetaime
Since LL is a private company and they don't publish their financials or economic reports anymore, the figures are at best guestimates only and not at all reliable.
Phil Deakins
Other people have mentioned inaccuracies. I add this one:- Google Rank: 7/10 It's just plain wrong. It should be Google Pagerank, which is not a rank at all - not in the way that the author appears to think. The author doesn't seem to understand things very well.
