If you bought a house from the Marketplace or an in-world store, and the house is now an item in your inventory, there are not any additional payments that will nee to be paid for the house.

When renting an empty parcel to put the house on there will be a weekly L$ rental payment. Also, be sure that the parcel of land is large enough for the house, and that the LI (land impact) of the house does not exceed the maximum LI (land impact) allowed on the parcel.

(If you bought the house from the Marketplace, oftentimes the description will indicate the size of the house and the LI of the house.  If you bought the house in-world from a store, sometimes the vendor will display that information or there will be a notecard in the box with that information).

Just as in real life, a home consists of two things:  the house and the land.

A house may be bought...from a store or the Marketplace...or you can build your own house.

Land may be rented or purchased.  Even if you purchase the land, you will still pay an ongoing monthly fee, either to Linden Lab or to the owner of a private estate.  Think of it as a sort of property tax.

Some rented land will come with a house or other type of dwelling already provided.  In this case, you're renting both the house and the land from the landlord.
